“America is the land par excellence of freedom but only for the white.”
America is huge country with many different people including the white and black people. The conflict
between white and black people in the America is known in the world as it shown in the national
television and social media. Black American faced a lot of struggles such as bullying, discrimination and
so on. Example for that is George Floyd who experienced brutality by police officer and not to mention
other people who discriminated by others especially student got bullied in the school. That is why Dr.
Jose Rizal once commented in the America said that “America is the land par excellence of freedom but
only for the white.” In America, in the past, only white people got the respect of the people, have
opportunities, and they can easily enjoy their life while black people got discriminated and have a
nightmare life. As Dr. Jose Rizal commented that statement, I fully agree with him. As what I see in the
social media that racism is continuously happen in America and even people in the social media
discriminate also black people without thinking what black people may feel. But also, on that, I noticed
also that the problem is not like in the past because I can also see white people defending black people
and I can say that the discrimination decreases but still there. If we open our mind and become mature,
we can live peacefully and get rid the discrimination. Black people are also people that have feelings,
emotions, and freedom to live. If white people can get respect and freedom to live, black people can get
that kind of lifestyle too. Also, because we cannot judge people by its color and race. According to a
famous quote, “Do not judge a book by its cover”. As of now, the discrimination decreases because of
the protest of the people in America and the voice of the people. There is a lot of celebrity that is black
but also get respected. To see white people defending black is the true meaning of humanity. If we see
this kind of humanity, black people would be accepted by people in the America and get the life they
deserve because black lives matter.
