Event Report Bengaluru City MLA Rating Press Conference Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) and knowledge partner Icare, conducted an analysis about the performance of the MLAs of Bengaluru city. This report was released by Mr Mohandas Pai, Vice President B.PAC to the media. Date: Friday, 13th April, 2018 | Time: 11 am Venue: Conference room, Press Club of Bengaluru General Invite Press Release B.PAC released 27 Bengaluru city MLAs’ rating Rating covers 8 parameters during the MLAs elected period from 2013 - 2018 Bengaluru, Friday, April 13, 2018: Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) undertook this study focusing on the 27 Assembly constituencies and today released the rating of the MLAs. Bangalore city in spite of being progressive city in several segments, voter turnout in the city is the lowest in the past elections. Bengaluru has voted 47.22% and 58.27% respectively during 2008 and 2013 Assembly elections. B.PAC under it’s Election Habba initiative carried out a range of initiatives/programs. Initiatives Impact One Million New Votes (OMNV) campaign 14,830 Registered Forms, to facilitate new voter registrations 56 Campaigns across residential communities, Tech campuses and educational institutions My constituency, My Manifesto to engage Completed conversations with citizens and with communities to elicit priority list to works RWA’s in 14 Assembly Constituencies to be undertake in their neighbourhood completed A Citizens’ Manifesto for Bengaluru City is being developed and handed over to Leaders of political Party MLA LAD fund utilization study To engage with city’s elected representatives to boost people’s participation in governance and also enable legislators to contribution for the development of their constituencies Continuing our efforts towards keeping citizens informed and encourage them to participate in the upcoming elections, B.PAC undertook Bengaluru city MLA Rating study. Ashwath Narayan) Total 262 Starred Questions and 3356 Unstarred Questions were asked by Bengaluru city MLA’s during 16 Assembly Sessions 19 MLAs had zero Criminal Cases whereas 2 MLAs had 4 Criminal Cases each 19 MLA’s have spent 95% of MLALAD fund allocated and 3 MLA’s have spent 90% to 94%. 3 MLAs are Post Graduates, 17 are Graduates, 2 are PUC and 5 are 10th standard. No MLA is below 10th standard All MLAs are present on Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter T.V.
