How to gain mastery over the circumstances of life
1. Understand that nothing happens to you that is uncommon to man
1Pe_5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in
your brethren that are in the world.
1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make
a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
2. You have the responsibility to do something about the position you are in in life
1Sa_30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of
all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged
himself in the LORD his God.
Luk 18:35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the
way side begging:
Luk 18:36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
Luk 18:37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
Luk 18:38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

sight.
Luk 18:42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
Luk 18:43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the
people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
3. Be prepared for opportunity
Gen 41:14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon:
and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.
Dan 1:4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning

palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
4. Know that you will come out on top
Rom_8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who
are the called according to his purpose.
