Angélica S. Rivera Collazo January 27, 2022 In the Morning Even with the morning breeze, While I observe the falling leaves, And the sparkling spider webs The small things keep bothering me. The ants that crawl into my shoes, The rotting flowers and pestering mosquitoes. All basically insignificant, But that I can’t ignore. In spite of everything, I enjoy the morning breeze, The cold contrasting the warmth of the sun. The morning dew upon the grass, It all somehow makes it worth it. In this quiet day, it is difficult to disregard The uneven terrain and the broken branches. It all overwhelms me. However, every little detail paints a beautiful landscape This scenery that emerges every day, Almost exactly the same. The light of day bathing everything it touches, Causes time to stand still.
