ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS
POSSIBLE ANSWERS
1. Why is it important to respect other
Filipinos, especially the elders?
-Respect is a very important part of Filipino
culture. We show respect to our elders,
parents, grandparents, older siblings,
relatives, friends, and teachers.
2. How do you respect your elders in the
Philippines?
-When a Filipino child meets an older family
member, the youth customarily greets them
with a gesture called mano po, taking the
older relative's hand and placing it on his or
her own forehead to express profound
respect for the elder.
Activity: Below is the acronym RESPECT. In each letter, write the behavior or attitudes of a
person who is respectful towards parents, elders, or persons in authority. Give as many similar
indicators as possible.

CLOSING SONG
Yakap ng Ama
Lumapit ka kung ika'y napapagal
Sa paglalakbay na kay tagal
Ang dalahing iyong pinapasan
Ibigay sakin nang mundo mo'y gumaan
At sa bisig ko'y masusumpungan mo
Ang isang bagong lakas at isang bagong bukas
Yakap ko'y naghihintay
Sayong pagbabalik aking anak
Nais kong malaman mong
Ako'y nasasabik
Sayo anak
Ang napapagod mong puso at isip
Ihimlay mo sa aking dibdib
Sugatan ka man ika'y tatanggapin
At sa yakap ko ikaw ay gagaling
At sa bisig ko'y masusumpungan mo
Ang isang bagong lakas at isang bagong bukas
Yakap ko'y naghihintay
Sayong pagbabalik aking anak
Nais kong malaman mong
Ako'y nasasabik
Sayo anak
Yakap ko'y naghihintay
Sayong pagbabalik aking anak
Nais kong malaman mong
Ako'y nasasabik
Sayo anak
