Why is it important to respect other Filipinos, especially the elders? -Respect is a very important part of Filipino culture. We show respect to our elders, parents, grandparents, older siblings, relatives, friends, and teachers. 2. How do you respect your elders in the Philippines? -When a Filipino child meets an older family member, the youth customarily greets them with a gesture called mano po, taking the older relative's hand and placing it on his or her own forehead to express profound respect for the elder. Activity: Below is the acronym RESPECT. In each letter, write the behavior or attitudes of a person who is respectful towards parents, elders, or persons in authority. Give as many similar indicators as possible. Ex: Reverence for all persons: giving importance to all without discrimination.
