THREE DAY REORIENTATION AND TRAINING ON QUALITY ASSURANCE OF
LEARNING RESOURCES

Purpose: Upskill the members of the school’s quality assurance team.
Narrative
Bayugan National Comprehensive High School as it battles with the challenge of the Pandemic has
constantly implements continuous improvement in the production of quality assured learning materials to
learners. Thus, the school conducted a Reorientation and training workshop Quality Assurance of Learning
Resources. The Reorientation and training workshop on Quality Assurance Learning Resources Manual is
purposely planned to improve and strengthen teachers’ competence in producing quality assured learning
materials guided by the principles and standards of Bureau of Learning Resources.
The participants of the said training workshop were department heads and master teachers in all
subject area. There was also the presence of Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Imelda Sabornino, Division
Learning Resource Supervisor, Dr. Genevieve Verceles and two virtual guest speakers Jason Villena and
Jejomar Alda from DepEd BLR-CO. The workshop focused on upskilling master teachers and department
heads to evaluate contents, language and layout. The participants then utilized their new knowledge by
evaluating the available learning materials of the school using DepEd-Developed Learning Resource
Evaluation tool to help Master teachers and Department heads be guided during the evaluation process. After
the Content and Language evaluation, the learning materials were submitted to the school’s Learning
Resource Coordinator for the Layout Evaluation. In addition, the quality assured learning materials of the
school will be sent to the division learning resource and subject supervisor for reviewing.
Furthermore, the activity, which is timely and relevant, offered experiential learning to the
participants as they upskill themselves in the production of quality assured contents of learning materials
based on the Most Essential Learning Competencies. The activity was successfully conducted and it is hoped
that all learning materials produced by all teachers will pass through the quality assurance unit of the school
to ensure its quality content, language and layout.
