1. Write short notes on image resolution?
2. In some literature, the spectral reflectance signature is used to denote the spectral
reflectance curve. Do you agree with the usage of the term “signature”? Why?
3. Explain the basic principles of the wave and particle models of electromagnetic radiation
and indicate the important relationships between wavelength, frequency and energy that
are explained by each model independently and the models combine
4. Hyper-spectral and multi-spectral scanners detect and record radiation in several (perhaps
hundreds) of very narrow spectral bands. What would be the advantages of these types of
sensors? What would be some of the disadvantages?
5. What is meant by absorption windows? How do they affect remote sensing systems? List
three gases that affect EM radiation transmittance through the atmosphere.
