60-Second Documentary Assign Date: Due Date: Monday, January 24, 2022 Wednesday, February 2, 2022 Team Size: Solo or pair (No More then 2) Objective: To create a 60-second documentary using your voice and your footage Preproduction: You need to come up with a subject that you can convey 60-seconds. To help you get the hang of the project you need to watch :60 docs on YouTube. Once you have an idea and team tell Manuel your project topic. Once you have your topic, you will need to complete a storyboard (at least one FULL Page). Write your script (see example in Google Classroom) STORYBOARD AND SCRIPT MUST BE COMPLETED TO TAKE OUT EQUIPMENT! Production: Think about Who is the topic about, What is the topic about, When did this occur, where did this happen, and Why did this happen? Film as much content as possible to give you the ability to shorten it to exactly :60. Postproduction: Upload your files to the “O” Drive to not lose your hard work. Using Adobe Premiere you will need to edit all the footage together to create a meaningful and thought-provoking documentary that is 60-seconds long. Remember to add lower thirds and title to your documentary. Also add credits to the end. No Bloopers on this project. Exporting: You will export the file as a H.264 file to your “O” Drive The file name should be lastname(s)_60_second_doc. (Example: manuel_60_second_doc.mp4) Criteria: :60 second film All footage must be original. You MUST COMPLETE One Full Storyboard Write your script that explains it in sixty seconds (:60 seconds) PRODUCTION Film o o o o o Use multiple angles Get Plenty of B-Roll to help with the shots For Interviews make sure that we can understand what they are saying DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST DAY! If you film using your phone. MUST BE IN LANDSCAPE. I will take off one Full grade if its in portrait. POST-PRODUCTION Open Adobe Premiere Create a new Project called “60-second documentary” Create your video! o Import your footage Record your Audio o If you are doing a voice-over, you can use your smartphone, zoom digital recorder, or a microphone. o Don’t like your voice? Get a friend or relative to read the script you wrote. Import your audio o You will need to either email the audio file or download from your phone (if you used your phone) o If you use the Zoom recorder, upload the sound file from the SD card Create your video! Make sure you put images and videos in an order that makes sense (think timeline) Edit o Change your image every 5 seconds. Add titles and transitions. o Do this while you edit. Export o CLICK FILE EXPORT MEDIA o FORMAT H.264 o Click Blue Link Change the OUTPUT NAME AND LOCATION Save file to your “O” Drive The file name should be lastname(s)_60_second_doc.
