Kidneys excrete wastes from the body as urine
The liver breaks down excess protein and makes urea
The kidneys filter the blood to remove the urea. The urea is dissolved in the urine.
The kidneys also remove excess salt and water from the blood, as well as vitamins.
If wastes are allowed to build up, you would die.
Parts of the urinary system include –




Kidneys – filter the blood
Ureter – carry urine to the bladder
Bladder – holds urine (about 400mL)
Urethra – carries urine to the outside
