Acts of Kindness Are Never Wasted
Every day little acts of kindness happen to people, most unappreciated and
forgotten. These small acts actually have a huge impact, whether you know it or not. The ancient
Greek storyteller, Aesop, once said, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
By doing small acts of kindness they can positively affect one's mental state and help the
influence of kindness.
Acts of kindness can build up to positively affect one’s mental state. When people
experience an act of kindness the brain’s neurotransmitters release serotonin and dopamine,
which promotes the feeling of happiness. Someone holding the door while another person has
their hands full of books and papers. Someone giving up their seat on a busy bus to an elderly
woman even though they just got back from work. Little acts can positively affect one’s mental
state and make.
Acts of kindness, no matter the size, can influence others. When someone experiences an
act of kindness they will most likely become happier and have a sense of connectivity with
others, wanting to make them feel the way you do. Somebody giving another shopper an extra
dollar so they can buy their groceries, influencing the other shopper to donate canned food in the
next food drive. Somebody giving someone support when their family member passed,
influencing them to start an emotion support group. Acts of kindness happening to someone
when they're in need can influence them to do the same to others.
Small acts can influence others to also do small acts of kindness as well as positively
affecting one’s mental state. It influences others by giving them a sense of happiness and
connectivity. When someone experiences an act of kindness it makes the brain release serotonin
and dopamine. So go out there and do something good, after all, it’s not that hard.
