Jean Piaget is an important theorist because he discovered the cognitive developmental stages. The theorist named Jean Piaget was born on August 9, 1896 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Jean Piaget was the oldest son of Arthur Piaget and Rebecca Jackson. When Jean Piaget was 11 years old, he was a student at Neuchâtel Latin high school in Switzerland. When Jean Piaget finish high school he went off to study natural sciences in the University of Neuchâtel where he inherited a Ph.D. Once he entered the University Jean Piaget promulgate two philosophical essays to generate his way of thinking. Later on, Jean Piaget spent a semester in the University of Zürich where he became interested in psychoanalysis. Which led him to move to France and worked for a year at the Ecole de la rue de la Grange-aux-Belles, an institution for boys.
