LUNSAD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCHOOLS DIVISION OF RIZAL – BINANGONAN HERD IMMUNITY Encourages everyone to get a Covid19 vaccine shot to help the nation in achieving herd immunity or at least 70% of the population to be immune. LUNSAD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCHOOLS DIVISION OF RIZAL – BINANGONAN Vaccination Status Philippines has administered at least 24,990,042 doses of COVID vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs 2 doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 11.6% of the country’s population. LUNSAD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCHOOLS DIVISION OF RIZAL – BINANGONAN WHAT IS HERD IMMUNITY? When most of a population is immune to an infectious disease, this provides indirect protection (herd immunity) or population immunity (herd protection) to those who are not immune to the disease. For example, if 80% of a population is immune to a virus, four out of every five people who encounter someone with the disease won’t get sick (and won’t spread the disease any further). In this way, the spread of infectious diseases is kept under control.
