Digestive process starts in the mouth when we
chew.

Salivary glands make saliva, a digestive juice,
which moistens food so it moves more easily into
the stomach.

Oesophagus caries food and liquid from mouth
to stomach.

The liver filters the blood in the body
and breaks down poisonous substances
and produces bile, a fluid that helps digest
fats and carry away waste.

In the stomach, the food is churned up
into a creamy liquid called chyme.

The small intestine breaks down
food from the stomach and absorbs
much of the nutrients from the food.

The large intestine absorbs water
and changes the waste from liquid
into stool.
