Introduction
The senior high school Group of students House of Philip of Unida Christian Colleges
(UCC) taking up Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) are proposing a project where we can
help reduce the number of plastic wastes; To recreate the waste into a reusable material; To
implement the 3R; Members of the group Namely; Glory Jane Cabalay, Merie Flores, Leila andrea
Quizon, Keith Justin Dela Rosa, Mark Angelo Santos, B-Jhay Tulipas, Jhon Vincent Patton, and
Ashis Kyle Sunga will be leading to produce the propose project.
According to the (Market Study for the Philippines: Plastics Circularity Opportunities and
Barriers, 2021) 78% of the material value of the key plastic resins– upwards of US$890 million
per year – is lost in the Philippines when recyclable plastic products are discarded rather than
recycled into valuable materials.Aside from that . “Corporations like Coke and Pepsi topped the
list because they use plastic bottles which are designed to be thrown away,” “And the fact is, these
bottles are not recycled — you don’t produce one bottle out of another bottle with the same quality.
According to (Von Hernandez of Break Free From Plastic).
That’s why the proponent of this project decided to create a recycle program which is the
Collection of plastic bottles will be turning it into brooms. Choosing this recycle program because
A staggering 2.7 million tons of plastic waste are generated in the Philippines each year, and an
estimated 20 percent ends up in the ocean. (Market Study for the Philippines: Plastics Circularity
Opportunities and Barriers, 2021). This project would be a great help to reduce the plastic waste
in oceans and in our environment. By doing so many people would be encourage to do this because
it doesn’t cost anything but will turn into incredibly something. Aside from it lessens the waste it
will also be an advantage for everyone because it is stronger than we can buy in markets.
