CLOUD STORAGE VS LOCAL STORAGE
DEFINITION
CLOUD
STORAGE
Cloud storage is a service model in which
data is maintained, managed, backed up
remotely and made available to users over a
network (typically the Internet).
There are three main cloud-based storage
architecture models: public, private and
hybrid.

Google drive, iCloud
LOCAL

Another definition
Online storage systems, or "cloud" services
as they're also known, allow you to store
digital media online by uploading via your
computer or mobile device. Though
transferred and accessible via the web, the
data is actually physically held on mammoth
servers, often owned by whoever provides
the particular service you use (Google,
Microsoft etc).
A hard drive or solid state drive directly
attached to the device being referenced.

SECURITY ISSUES
Users generally pay for their cloud data
storage on a per-consumption, monthly rate.
Although the per-gigabyte cost has been
radically driven down, cloud storage
providers have added operating expenses
that can make the technology more
expensive than users.
bargained for.
Once you have access to the
Internet you are able to gain
access to the content stored in
the cloud, anytime and
anywhere.
Cloud security continues to be a concern
among users. Providers have tried to deal
with those fears by building security
capabilities, such
as encryption and authentication, into their
services.
If your account is hacked, your files are
immediately available – so always weigh
up the risks before uploading more
sensitive files.
There is no need for internet
access to get the data stored on
the device however you
cannot access it from
anywhere without the devices
that it actually stored on.
All devices are susceptible to security
threats, whether by virus or hacking.
However without going on a network
especially the internet, it is harder for the
device to be hacked. Also with the use of
antivirus can assist with getting rid of
viruses.
