harisd summary and notes of Qullamaggies Swing Trading School

advertisement
Preface
The following is notes and comments are from @Qullamaggie’s 4h Swing Trading School
@harisd in the Discord has compiled the notes and it can mostly be read as a running commentary to
the Swing Trading School as most of the notes are verbatim from Kris.
This document is meant to work as a quick reference and pocket book, and should not be mistaken
for putting in the work yourself. As Kris says «Most people are here to be entertained, not to do the
work. Most people will not be rich».
Stock names are missing on some of the charts, but don’t let that take anything away from the
anatomy of the setup.
Introduction
Expect 25-30% win rate with these setups. A bit less on choppy market conditions. But a lot more on
bull market.
When to buy: Imagine risers and treads in a stair case. Buy point is where the tread meets the next
riser. Stop loss is the low of the day. Opening range is the key. On a tight tight flag, 1 min range really
works.
Sell rules:
Sell 1/3 to ½ after 3 to 5 days and then move the stop to break even, and then sell the rest once it
closes below the 10 dma. Or trail the rest with trailing 10 dma.
****** setup
Makes a big move
It’s a bit choppy in that range, but its getting tighter and tighter at the top.
Making the higher lows, surfs from 10 dma, and surfing on 20 dma,
Really tight narrow range just the day before breakout.
And breaks out with high volume
***** setup
High tight flag: (a variation of the breakout)
Would have preferred if it was a tight range before breakout.
Makes a big move,
bounces of the 50 dma, surfs the 50 dma,
then it starts surfing 10 and 20 dma
builds higher lows, and takes out the clean range
CVNA ***** setup
Makes a big move, pull back or sideways consolidation, starts finding support at one of the moving
averages, starts surfing one of the moving averages, it could be 10 or 20 or 50. Many times its usually
a combination of 10 and 20 dma. And then it gets tighter and breaks out of the range. Pay attention
to the notes Kris has..”smaller losses going forward !!”
*** setup
Not a great setup, would have preferred a bit more sideways for tight range.
But it surfed nicely on 10 and 20 dma, it built a nice range before breaking
***** setup.
Makes a big move, more than 200%.
Pulls back; Finds support on rising 20 dma, builds a tight range, and it breaks out with high volume.
***** setup:
Makes a big move about 100-150%. Pulls back. Finds support at rising 10 dma. Starts surfing 10 dma.
Builds tight range, with higher lows and breaks out with large volume.. See the red arrow mark taking
out the range. (the 10 dma is just about to take off and that’s the time to buy..Imagine risers and
treads in a stair case..buy point is where the tread meets the next riser.
***** setup
Makes a big move from 8 to 16, pulls back, finds support at rising 20 dma, starts surfing on 20 dma,
builds tight range with higher lows, just the day before break out, very narrow range, and then it
breaks out at $11.
3 good set ups for LVGO.
MARK stock ticker:
Showing a good setup at the intersection in the picture above.
Ticker: MIK.
Its an OK setup. It did not move big first. But after 100% move over 2 months, it pulled back, surfing
10 dma, building higher lows, tighter range and broke out. The day before break out, is the setup
day.
Ticker NLS:
3 good setups as marked above.
NVAX:
Good setup. If ½ or 1/3 is sold after 3-5 days, the rest would still be in the stock for a gain of more
than 500%. Its important to follow the sell rule, as it never closed below the 10 dma..these will make
huge difference to the account.
OPK:
Not a 5 star setup at the first indicator, but the sector was strong during COVID bull market.
The second indicator was a 5 star setup.
OSTK:
2 good setups above.
PLUG:
Good setup, but it was a gap up. On those gapped up ones, SL should be based on the opening range
highs if it was bought on opening range high.
RDFN:
Its not an obvious setup. Its another variation. Big move from a 20 dma bounce, pulled back to find
support at 50 dma, surfing with 4 tight candles, and took out the range. Any time, range is
mentioned, it’s the top of the candle. But these are not perfect setups.
RUN:
Big momentum leader.
Big move, pulled back to rising 20 dma. But it did not create a range that is obvious. But took out the
high. Would have preferred a bit more sideways.
SRNE:
The first setup was not a 5 star setup..it had gone sideways for too long.
The second was a 5 star setup. Higher lows, keeps surfing the 20 dma, getting really tight, and has a
breakout day.
7 star setup:
Big move, pulls back, tight range at the top, higher lows, surfing 20 dma, narrow and tighter
range, and breaksout. Imagine risers and stairs.
OSTK on hourly chart:
Building lower highs and higher lows.
If it breaks down below the lows, add more shorts. If breaksout above the range, cover.
AVLR: ***** star setup
Big move, pulled back, found support at rising 20 dma, surfing 20 dma, building higher lows, broke
out of the range. Indicated intersection is the when it broke out.
DDOG: ***** setup
Big big move, pulled back to 10 dma, but it did under cut 10 dma, but building higher lows, tight
range, and starts breaking out with higher volume.
STRONGEST ONES FIND Support on 10 dma, STRONGER ones find support on 20 dma, Slightly lesser
stronger find support on 50 dma.
TSLA:
Big move, pulled back to 10 dma, under cut 10 dma, 20 dma caught up, building higher lows, tight
range at the top, and broke out with gapping up. On those days, buy at opening range highs.
ZM:
Big move, pulls back to find support on rising 20 and on rising 50 dma, and building higher lows and
tight range, and breaking out. It keeps finding support at rising 50 dma. There is no reason why it
can’t go to 300 eventually.
APT: 5 star setup
Big move off the lows, pulls back, find supports on rising 20 dma, puts narrow candles and then
breaks out on high volume.
SRNE:
Big move, pulls back, finds support on rising 20 dma, and breaks out where the intersection is.
Unfortunately Kris got shaken out..(didn’t follow own rules).
SRNE:
Again rebought at the breakout shown in intersection.
W:
900 % up from low. It barely pulled back when QQQ pulled back in early / mid July. When you have a
stock that is up 900% up in few months, and market weakness can’t bring it down, showing extreme
relative strength, this is leaving clues / signs that this wants to go high when the market comes back
up..(its yelling at you !!, hey, I want to go higher).
Following the trailing 10 day stop.
BILI:
Not a clean setup.
Has been surfing the 10 dma, has a narrow candle and then breaks out.
BILI again:
After trailing half position and getting stopped out below 10 dma close, it found support again at
rising 50 dma, and surfing with lower highs, with narrow candles. And Breaksout on volume..
WKHS:
Big big move, pulls back and finds support on rising 20 dma, surfing with higher lows, puts a narrow
tight candle and breaks out, of higher range.
CODX:
Big moves followed by finding support on rising 50 dma. The only technical indicators are 10/20/50
dma. This is the one Kris chased the chase.
Don’t even need to look at intra-day charts.
ALT:
High momentum stocks. High ADR of 13%. (indicates it had gone up with momentum. But it should
have a day more of sideways, before breaking out. Its too thin for Kris.
SQ in 2017: (One setup that requires hundreds of hours to study, to learn and to understand few
variations).
Big move, pulls back, under cuts 10 dma, under cuts 20 dma, surfing below 20 dma, puts in tight
candle near 20 dma, and breaks out.
Z:
Classic small flag over a big flag setup above
OSTK:
Just at the time of breaking out, look at the candle.
OSTK hourly chart for the same time above to show, what is a range break on the hourly chart.
This is a range breakout.
Either there should be a range or tightness of atleast 2 days, before the breakout.
WIX: (10/01)
5 star setup. Need to breakout. Screenshot taken at live stream.
The patterns are in red. All of tight flag, triangle, channel are all variations of high tight fans shown in
red. Buy only those TOP MOMENTUM LIQUID STOCKS and buy in those break outs.
DDOG in June.
Big 150% move in few months. Pulled back to 10 dma, built a range, with higher lows, 20 dma caught
up, formed tightness, broke out the range.
MRNA:
Above, both charts are for MRNA with multiple breakouts.
LVGO:
5 star setup.
VXRT:
Need to identify the day before.
It gaps up due to news.
NEED TO BUY IT OPENING RANGE HIGH. Had a huge volume out of the gate.
Lows of the day, you stop loss.
After 3-5 days, sell 50% and keep trailing on 10 dma for the other 50%.
TWLO:
Big move, under cut 10 dma, found support on 20 dma, surfing 20dma, building higher lows, puts in
a narrow candle, and breaks out of the range.
Step by step to millions:
After the close, run the 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months big winner momentum scans.
Find the setup.
Put it on watch list. And watch only that.
c/minl22 → price gain from the lowest past 22 days – one month
c/minl67 → 3 months
c/minl126 → 6 months
LRN:
5 star setup.
INO:
4 star setup
Both above charts are OSTK.
First was 3.5 star setup,
second was 5 star setup, surfing the 10 dma, building higher lows, getting tighter and tighter. Breaks
out of the range.
CWH:
Big move, pulled back, surfing 10 dma, 20 dma caught up, surfing on 20 dma, breaks out. (It was not
an obvious setup, but look at the red line indicators for higher lows.
SEDG:
A good setup.
Gapped up, Pulled back, surfing 20 days, bounced off of 50 dma, tight candle at the top of the range,
and breaks out with heavy volume. Look at the red line for the top of the range.
ROKU: 5 star setup.
Clean bounce off the 50 dma, See the range it was building above the 50 dma, breaks out of the
range.
AMD in 2017: 5 star setup.
AMD again in 2017:
Not a 5 star setup, because the candle before the breakout was long..but it had been building a range
with higher lows. Look at the red line.
AMD again:
Breaks down, finds support at 50 dma, surfs and builds higher lows on 50 dma, and breaks out.
AMD again:
6 star in a 5 star scale: (Memorize this pattern)
Bounced off the 20 dma, very tight and breaks out.
APPS: 5 star setup. Memorize.
OTRK: 5 star setup on 10/02. (I am trading this). (picture perfect breakout).
Quadruples in few months, pulls back, under cuts 10 and 20 dma, finds support on 50 dma, surfs for
10 sessions forming a tight range with higher lows, and on 10/02, takes out the range at 66.4
(Although I chased at 67.10)
EAT:
On 10/08, it broke the range.
