The advertisement I choose to write on is an interior design website, called Livespace. Here is the link-- https://youtu.be/DRJ97TQUR4k This is merely just one of the many ads that livespace has produced to sell their product. This particular brand intrigues me because it takes a very rational yet comically twisted approach to put forward the problem to which their domain provides a solution. In this above attached link is a live space ad, in which a middle aged man struggles to play “TUG-of-WAR” with a poorly designed sliding door(as it hasn’t been greased/designed properly) for a cupboard, so to speak, just so his father could get a singular Q-tip out of it. This whole ad is a witty attempt to get the audience to relate to a commonly occurring problem, which generally is overlooked, but has been brought to the limelight with some exaggeration. They then propose their product as a solution to the aforementioned problem. Here we can see that the ad uses a middle aged man as the person who is struggling because, in typical Indian households it’s the father who is expected to deal with such a problem thus imparting some sense of rational relatability. In conclusion, I would like to say that, this ad is effective as it is on point and humorous thus, leaving a mark on the audience.
