Lobbying for An Issue Assignment
Choose ONE issue that you feel strongly about and lobby for change on the
issue.
Suggested issues: (school, community, etc.)
Allowing cellphones in school
Putting pop machines and vending machines in the school
Building an overpass in Estevan to cross the railroad tracks
Creating a youth centre in Estevan for teenagers
Dropping the age for a learner’s license to 14
Other ideas…
Choose ONE way to lobby:
1) Write a letter to a leader who could make this change (ex. principal, mayor,
etc.)
2) Design a T-shirt that could be worn to draw attention to the issue
3) Design a poster or flyer that persuades people to agree with you
4) Create a video (could be a single person talking to the camera, or stage a
protest)
5) Other ideas….
