10 Cell parts and Analogies Abigail henry 10/20/2021 Cell Membrane- A cell membrane is like a bodyguard, because the cell membrane controls what goes and out of the cell like how a bodyguard controls who goes in and out of a mall. Ribosomes-Ribosomes are like a factory, because ribosomes make proteins like factories make products. Golgi Apparatus- the Golgi apparatus is like a post office because it receives molecules and changes and sorts them like a post office deals with mail. Mitochondria- like how mitochondria convert energy from the sun into food and breaks it down the human digestive system does something similar but energy for the human body. Nucleus- The nucleus is like the CEO of a company. Oversees company activities and leads, just as the nucleus does for a cell. Lysosomes- much like a trash can the lysosomes are used to digest waste and worn cell parts and foreign invaders. ER- The ER is like a highway system because the ER’s tube system is used to move materials form place to place like a highway. Cell wall- Supports and protects while still letting materials pass like a bullet proof vest protects the user. Cytoplasm-A fluid like material kind of like jello salad how it surrounds the cell organelles, and the jello surrounds the fruit. Chloroplast- Converts the suns energy into high sugars much like solar panels turn the suns energy in to electric.
