Summer Exam 2020 LL105 – Property I 2019/20 syllabus only – not for resit candidates Instructions to candidates This paper contains 8 questions. Answer 2 questions. All questions carry equal weight (50%). Time Allowed: 24 hours Upper word limit: 3000 You are supplied with: No additional materials You may also use: This is an open book exam Specify the question numbers that you answered in the boxes provided on the coversheet for submission. We expect referencing to be in the same format as you would use in the exam hall: that is, make clear to the examiner what source it is you are referring to. Cases should be clearly referenced by the name of at least one party, and articles/books should be clearly referenced by the name of the author (or at least one author). Where you have quoted directly from a source you must use quotation marks and a reference to the source to make clear that you are citing verbatim. The publication year and page number are not essential. A failure to name the source and use quotation marks may result in allegations of plagiarism. You are not required to include a bibliography or a list of references at the end of your submission. Although you will typically want to make use of the full word limit to answer a question effectively, there is no penalty for writing fewer words. Please note that this is a word limit not a target. The department expects that many students will produce high-quality answers without reaching this word limit. Again, it is important to remember that examiners, as always, will be looking for accurate and concise answers, as they do in the traditional exam-setting. LSE ST 2020/LL105 Page 1 of 3 You will not lose marks for exceeding the word limit, however, once the limit is reached the examiner will stop reading the script. In-text references count towards your word count. Where possible, use the formatting provided. If you need to make formatting adjustments, please use a large font (for example Arial or Helvetica pt15, which can easily be read on a tablet), line spacing with a minimum of 1.5 lines, left alignment, and margins of about one inch (2.54cm) on all four sides of the page.
