Transcript of the Interview
1. Can you describe to us, what is your primary style in leading your organization?
Answer: I am more like a Coaching leadership style wherein I make sure that my employees are
highly skilled. I also make sure that I will point out their mistakes in their job to improve.
2. What challenges did you have to overcome at the beginning of your journey?
Answer: At first, I quit my job as a product manager in Africa and decided to go home and start
my new business. I was struggling at first because I didn't have enough capital to build my own
business. The business computer shop needs a 250k capital, so what I did was to borrow some
money from Bombay", the 5,6. I had to make a lot of sacrifices to create that business. There
were times that our family couldn't afford to eat three times a day because we needed to save
some money. In that situation, I risk everything I have and do not know if the business will gain
in the future.
3. As an entrepreneur and a businessperson, do you prefer
To manage the business by yourself
To manage the business with your family members
To manage the business by hiring employees
Answer: Starting a business, you need first to handle it by yourself because you need to know the
strengths and weaknesses of your business to improve. Also, It is advantageous for you if you
first manage your business to understand its cash flows and transaction. But as time goes by, I
need to hire some employees to handle my business, to improve the services and the quality of
the work.

4. Was being in the business world is your first choice of profession?
Answer: Yes, but I don't have enough money to build my own business; that's why I applied first
from a different company to gain more experience and save money.
5. How long have you been in this kind of business? Did you have any other businesses
before?
Answer: I started the year 2007, wherein I first established my very own computer repair shop.
To sum up, I'm in 14 years in the industry.
6. What is the one thing you enjoy most in your business?
Answer: Looking back, I enjoyed the monthly sales that my employees need to attain, and if they
reach it, they will receive a bonus or reward. And those fourteen years in this industry taught me
a lot of experiences and lessons. Also, I enjoyed the company of every employee that I handled
because they had a lot of stories and lessons to tell.
7. What are the primary values one needs to demonstrate as a leader?
Answer: It would be best if you were dedicated enough to the things that you were doing. It
would be best if you unleashed all your bad habits, like waking up too late. In establishing your
business, you need to discipline yourself by simply starting your day early and being productive.
Also, you need to be responsible for handling a business. You need to focus on what you are
doing and be accountable for every situation and outcome of your business.
8
8. As leaders, how do you steer your organization despite these uncertain times?
Answer: You need to stick to your main goal and always remember what your purposes are. For
example, one big crisis happened wherein all establishments and businesses were forced to shut
down for almost seven months. Imagine the enormous loss of my business. So what I did was to
think of an alternative way on how I will be able to continue my business even it is pandemic. A
crisis is pervasive in every industry; you have to think wisely and propose another way to build
your business again.
9. What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses as leaders?
Answer: I am the doer; I always do it immediately if I have new ideas or new business in my
mind. Because if you keep on planning or brainstorming, it's useless. But remember, before
establishing your thoughts, you need to know all the risks it.
10. What advice would you give to someone who is trying to become successful?
Answer: Define what success means to you. Set your goals with a specific time frame for each
and make an action plan. You could not go into a war without a weapon, and the same goes with
the business; you need to have a plan to execute all the ideas you want. Also, every successful
people recognize the value of time. It is a precious commodity and every second counts. And the
last thing is to enjoy all the things that you are doing.

Individual Reflection Paper
Espinosa, Krystelle A. (Section 1- BSBA Leadership and Human Capital Management)
As a student pursuing a business course, I was deeply inspired by Mr. Espinosa's story. He
has been through many problems in life, and all the things he achieves right now are what
he deserves. After reading his answer, I was motivated when he said that "He is a doer.
Because all of us can be a businessman but not at the same level of success, it takes a lot
of experience, determination to be a successful businessman. When Mr. Espinosa argued
that we should execute all of our ideas because it was not worth keeping them in our
heads, it gave me the impression that we should learn to implement and risk
simultaneously.
Ryle Padlan (Section 1- BSBA Leadership and Human Capital Management)
I have learned that leaders nowadays are better equipped with the knowledge and the
information being passed through their respective organizations. Mr. Espinosa is an
excellent example of a leader. We must also remind ourselves that leaders must maintain
their focus and concentration and stay determined to face the challenges as we continue to
move forward in our modern, fast changing world.
Andrei Roxas (Section 1- BSBA Leadership and Human Capital Management)
As a student, I was amazed how he manages his business himself, together with his wife,
these different types of companies full time, and to hear how he became successful is
genuinely one of a kind. I realized that you have to sacrifice many things to be successful,
especially your time and effort. You have to be committed to your work and always be a
humble person. With this experience, I realized that we could all be successful in our
ways, find and do what we love, focus on it, and with all the hardships, we can become
successful people
11
Mark Perez (Section 1- BSBA Leadership and Human Capital Management)
I have learned that despite having a short time to prepare and a busy schedule, we still
managed to finish our requirements because of our teamwork. It amazes me how he
handles those kinds of businesses, still has time for his wife, and complies with his duties
as a father.
Luis Miguel Verzon (Section 1- BSBA Leadership and Human Capital Management)
As a student, It amazed me how he became successful. He leaves his job to do a business
and sacrifice himself. And even though he didn’t have the capital to start a business, he
borrowed money to start his business, and he worked hard to be a businessman. He
pursues what he loves, works hard for it, and is a strong person because he sacrifices many
things. I realized that we need to be strong in any circumstances and be ready to take risks
whatever we want to be in our life.
