We all have been affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic. However, the impact of the pandemic and its consequences are felt differently on companies and industry sectors. COVID19 outbreak has presented unprecedented circumstances before the fragile tourism and hospitality industry. The highly infectious novel coronavirus continues to make damage to the industry and raises serious questions about the present and future survival of the sector. The UK retail and hospitality sector has been one of the most impacted industries throughout the COVID19 pandemic. The Angus SteakHouse chain restaurants suffered tragically from the pandemic period. Although there are many signs that the industry will recover soon, nobody can say precisely when it will happen. According to (Mccallister, 2021) the UK hospitality industry is expected to make a full recovery and exceeds its pre-pandemic value by the end of 2022. Firstly, with few restrictions still in power, many restaurants cannot work at full capacity. The "rule of six" is still in, and there is no chance to have more than 6 people seated at one table. Secondly, with the borders still not open, restaurants cannot rely on tourists. As Angus Steakhouse is located in central London, most of its customers are tourists. Thirdly, Brexit had an impact too. Drivers delivering goods from UE are required now to self-isolate for 5 days. Thus it is tough for Angus Steakhouse to recover in these circumstances. However, Steakhouse has implemented few offers to bring the customers in. First, Monday to Sunday at any of Angus Steakhouses Kids Eat Free. Every day between 12 PM and 5 PM a child eats a free meal per one adult paid meal. Second, book a table or walk-in between the hours of 4 PM - 6 PM and receive a complimentary glass of Sparkling Peach Bellini. The offer is valid up to the 30th of November. Thirdly, every day between 7 PM and 9 PM there is Happy Hour on cocktails. This means you get 2 cocktails at the price of one. Therefore these are good offers that make people go to Angus Steakhouse. Furthermore, Angus Steakhouse made some exciting changes to its menu. First of all, they added sharing steaks for two people. Tomahawk and Bull's Head are now available on the menu. In addition, burgers are now on the menu for the first time Beef burgers and quinoa burgers are two available options. And finally, vegan options are available. Dishes like Ricotta Dumplings and Cauliflower steak can be found on the menu. In summary, these changes will have a good impact on bringing customers. Therefore some changes to the beverages have been made too. Firstly, more wine from France is now available, like Malbec from Cahors Area and Syrah from St. Joseph. Secondly, rose wine can be found now on the menu. Wines like Arcades and Inspiration from Provence, France have been selected to be on the drinks menu. Thirdly, they added freshly squeezed juices. Freshly squeezed orange juice, pear & carrot, and golden beetroot juice, carrot &apple and ginger can be found on the menu. Overall some exciting beverages have been introduced to their existing guests and for those who want to visit Angus Steakhouse for the first time. In conclusion, while in these uncertain times nobody can say when we will be back to prepandemic times, Angus Steakhouse has made some efforts to save the company and even to make some profit. Few deals and changes on their menu can be vital for their business. The form of recovery will depend on the success of the virus containment policy and will vary by restaurant type.
