I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of this exercise, students must be able to:
a) Explain the reason for taking entrepreneurial risks.
b) Describe the idea of a home-based and web-based business.
c) Explain the concept and process in starting a small business.
II. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Starting a new business involves planning, making key financial decisions and completing a
series of legal activities. Starting any business has a price, so you need to determine how you're
going to cover those costs. These are some considerations that you need to understand in putting
up your small business and this is what you called Entrepreneurial Risk.
In this activity your group will need to come up with two types of business namely Home-base
and Web-base type and discuss its very nature as a business.
III. CLASSROOM ACTIVITY
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. You will complete this activity with your group.
2. You need to come up with the following business type:
a. Home-Based type
b. Web-Based type
3. Define and discuss the following for each business type:
a. Business Name
b. Nature of the Business
c. Target Market
d. Business Model
4. You have 60 minutes to complete this activity.
5. Present your work (2-3 minutes per group).
6. Group leaders should pass this activity in their Canvas account in ppt/pptx format.
7. Upon submission and obtaining a passing grade each group will have 5 minutes to
present their activity as their Summative Assessment.
