Mid day meal scheme is a school meal program started to improve the nutritional status and attendance of students under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan. Proper management in timely delivery of good quality of grains, maintaining proper hygiene during cooking and storing grains should be ensured. Parents should be made aware of essential nutrients required for proper physical and mental development of their children. Pregnant ladies should maintain proper hygiene, rich nutrition and good living standards to avoid diseases like Diarrhea, Anemia which will trigger other diseases on both mother and children. Healthcare centers should be equipped with proper knowledge and skills to implement nutrition schemes properly. School going children should be monitored timely and should be taught about malnutrition in classes. Fortification of micronutrients to ensure the nutrients lost during processing. Aaganbadi was started by the Indian government in 1975 as part of the Integrated Child Development Services program to combat child hunger and malnutrition. Couples should have proper family planning so that each child gets proper share of diet. They should be encouraged to regularly visit these centers for proper checkup. Government should have check on price of food commodities like rice, wheat and pulses or give subsidy so that poor people should not deprive of them. Accountability and dedication of people involved in these centers should be checked. Women should be empowered to have equal status and have right to proper nutrition and appropriate burden of physical labor, good maternal nutrition and adequate prenatal care.
