control more data in an easy, intuitive fashion through a state-of-the-art graphical interface.

What does Graphics have to offer?
We have 3 tiers of Graphic packages that match the size and complexity of your system,
Standard, Advantage and Premium. Each Tier package has specific graphics included.
Anything outside of that package is non-standard and is a billable service respectfully.
Review the Tier Offerings chart for more detail on each package as well as what Customer
Solutions Engineering (CSE) has to offer.

How do I request Custom Engineering Solutions work?
Go to the dealer website https://accounts.automatedlogic.com/, and select Engineering
and then select “Click here” link to fill out the “Bright Idea” form. This request will then be sent
to your RSM (Regional Sales Manager) and Product Marketing Manager.

Tier 1 - Standard
Summary
A summary is required when a system consists of multiple controlled floorplans. A
building with only 1 floorplan does not need a summary. All summaries will
include certain elements in specific locations on the graphic.
Summary elements include:

Meters (OA is default)

An elevation (building thumbnail) or a logo
•
Floorplans (small thumbnails)
•
Equipment icons
•
Node name
•
Color legend
•
North arrow

For this type of summary, the floorplans only have the exterior and interior walls
along with any of elements mentioned above.

This option includes the floorplan walls, zones without associations, and any of the
elements mentioned above. The dealer is responsible for programming zones.

Thermographic summary programmed
A zone’s thermographic color reads from the setpoint parameters and uses a set
color scheme shown on the color legend at the bottom of the graphic. The
benefits of a thermographic summary are to identify alarm conditions in an
instant. This summary would include the floorplan walls, programmed zones, and
any of the elements mentioned above.

Floorplans
For this tier, you have a very simple floorplan with minimal amount of
thermographic colors indicating the current condition and equipment status. We
create the graphics in our 4.1 WebCTRL style but the new shadowed look can be
requested as well.

A thermographic floorplan displays elements, components and current zone
conditions, equipment status, and temperature sensors. Graphics is responsible
for the zoning, associating and testing the system.

Air Systems
An air system graphic shows generic equipment to represent the controlled
mechanical equipment along with its controlled points. This graphic may include
elements such as an Outside Air monitor, electric meter, and CO² monitor, etc. if
requested in the submittal.

Water Systems
Similarly, a water system graphic represents generic equipment to represent the
controlled mechanical equipment and the controlled points respectively. A
water system may include the same elements as an air system graphic.

Panels
A panel graphic is a generic representation of the actual equipment face panel.
It displays the equipment's controlled points. The panel graphic shows
components such as lights, buttons, switches, etc. It may also include a few
equipment elements.

A meter or monitor graphic displays the metering/monitoring device with a table

Thermographic summary programmed
A thermographic summary shows all the floorplans and meter and monitors so
that at any time you can spot an alarm. An elevation of your building or a logo
can be incorporated into the page as well.
The floorplan thumbnail size depends on the number of floors to the building.
Graphics will put up to 10 floorplans on a single graphic if the size allows. If they
do not fit, we will create another summary under the Graphics tab (located on
the top of the WebCTRL window, shown here in light blue) and name it
something like Summary 2.
Note: Zones should never be any smaller than 3 x 3 pixels. Why is this? When zones
become too small, they will overlap or even disappear completely from the
screen. This means your customer could miss a very important alarm.

Area summary
For the Advantage tier, another type of summary is possible. In this case, a
floorplan is so large it needs to be split into several areas. Each area would have
its own graphic.
Here is an example: Let us say this is the first floor. The first floor comprises of areas
A, B, C, D and E. The first floor is now considered the summary because A, B, C, D
and E represents the separated floorplan areas. Therefore, the count of graphics
needed would be first floor = 1 summary and areas A to E = 5 floorplans.

Lighting
A lighting summary graphic shows all the same elements as the thermographic
summary. Each lighting zone covers a much larger area and indicates an
Active/Inactive/Maintenance/Alarm status. The status colors comprise of white,
grey, yellow and red.
As a billable service, we also offer the option of lighting with individual light
placement that can show, individual dimming and/or individual Kelvin scale.
Kelvin scale reads the lights color temperature.

Floorplans
The Advantage tier offers a floorplan with 3D’ish shadowed walls. The
thermographic zones indicate the current condition and equipment status.

Walls and zoning
This option includes all the walls, components of a shadowed floorplan, elements,
zones without associations, as well as the temperature sensors (if included on the
submittal). The dealer is responsible for programming the zones.

Thermographic floorplan programmed
A thermographic floorplan displays current zone conditions, equipment status,
and temperature sensors. On a programmed system, we are responsible for the
zoning, associating and testing the graphics.

Lighting
Lighting floorplan shows the status of lighting in a particular room or an area.
Each lighting zone covers a much larger area and indicates an
Active/Inactive/Maintenance/Alarm status. The status colors comprise of white,
grey, yellow and red.
As a billable service, we also offer the option of lighting with individual light
placement that can show, individual dimming and/or individual Kelvin scale.
Kelvin scale reads the lights color temperature.

An air system graphic shows the status of the equipment and components
controlled by the system in a 3D cutaway view. Some parts of the equipment are
animated when running in WebCTRL. This graphic may include elements such as
an outside air monitor, electric meter, and CO² monitor, etc. if requested in the
submittal.

equipment are animated when running in WebCTRL.

Logo
A logo can be added to a map (like a site map for example) to give it that
finishing touch. With the Premium package, you can receive a logo on the map

Color Data Map
A Color Data Map is a custom site map that provides key performance indicators
beyond our normal thermographic readings.
Performance indicator examples include:

• Energy Consumption
• Fault Detection Diagnostic (FDD) conditions

With the Premium tier, you can receive one of these maps at no extra charge.

Area summary
An Area Summary is created when a floorplan is too large to fit on the screen
and it needs to be split into several areas. Each area would count as a floorplan,
but the overall level itself would be an Area summary.

Design Consultation
Large projects (about 50K points) sometimes require special attention from start
to finish. When the thought arises that you need something to impress your
customer and you are not sure what they might want visually, or if the project
needs to be created in stages this option is a good solution. We also call this
option Onboarding Assistance for jobs like Storyboards where we need that
continual conversation to review the scope of work throughout the project.
We will design custom options for your customer. Upon their approval, we meet
throughout the project and send you updates of the graphics. Each meeting is
billable for the conceptual design work involved.

Isometric View Map
An isometric map is a completely custom graphic. The view of the buildings is at
a slight angle. A good example of this is a campus map showing 2 sides of most
buildings. There is usually a large legend and corresponding numbers on the
map, which are linked together.
This map is billable for both the Advantage and Premium Tiers, but not available
for the Standard tier.

Color Data Map
A Color Data Map is a custom site map that provides key performance indicators
beyond our normal thermographic readings. The color pallet is completely
custom except for the darker background.
Performance indicator examples include:

Floorplans with Ductwork Overlay
We have 2 styles of floorplans to choose from with ductwork overlay, Standard
and Custom. Both of these styles display the piece of equipment and the lines of
ductwork right down to their diffusers. Choosing the right style just depends upon
how much you want to impress your customer. It also depends on how much
work you would like to do yourself. The price respectfully increases within each
style, as each type is more intricate as you progress.
Style 1: Standard WebCTRL 7.0 floorplan with ductwork overlay:

For this style, we do it all! We create the normal floorplan, zone it per the
submittal, program it according to the database, and test it in design mode. The
status of each equipment and diffuser is programmed, and tested as well. No

Style 2: 3D floorplan walls only
Unlike the standard floorplan, we create a completely custom 3D floorplan with
the exterior and interior walls along with 3D components. Graphics will then
create the 3D ductwork overlay as a separate image hovering above the 3D
floorplan. In this case the ductwork is just a visual display and does not have any
controlled equipment or points.

Truly, a floorplan to impress your customer as it represents it all and there is no
extra work on the dealer’s side at all!
Graphics creates the custom floorplan, generates the zones with the ductwork
overlay as a separate graphics with status’s of the equipment and diffusers, we
program the entire thing, and finally test it in design mode for you.
Note: For this style, a complete database is required to test the programming.

Popup T- sensors
Within a floorplan, the T-sensors are located within a particular zone.
The T-sensor (usually shown just for location purposes), but in this case, you can
select the T-sensor. When you do, a pop up window shows the temperature, the

setpoint and the internal components of that particular VAV. The popup can
have an animated schematic of the VAV or a trend graph displaying zone
temperature over time.
Floorplan Navigation with Zone Locator
When navigating from the floor plan down to the VAV box (for example), the
floorplan navigation shown on the right here indicates what floor it is on, and
what specific zone the equipment is serving.
The below example allows for navigation from VAV to VAV rather than from
floorplan to equipment and back to the floorplan.

Network Diagrams
The network diagram (or Riser diagram) shows you what modules are located on
each level of the building and how they are linked together. This diagram can
help troubleshoot issues with the system as the module can be programmed to
turn red when there is an alarm status. Some dealers like to add equipment
boxes under the module as well. This can show which equipment is connected to
which module.

System Touch is a touchscreen user interface that provides facility managers and
building occupants a means to control multiple equipment. The System Touch
user interface can be used with WebCTRL to interface with zones or it can be

you would like to see on the screens. Keep in mind the animation is limited
compared to WebCTRL 7.

Equipment Touch
Equipment Touch is a touchscreen used for a single piece of equipment with
access to virtually any data point in the controller. You can trend data points
and use pinch zoom or swipe feature for better viewing. The equipment images
support animated graphics. It is capable of having multi-level password
protection as well.
The Graphics department now creates any custom equipment touch screens
you need. Please contact the graphics department for a quote.

Custom Reports template
Custom reports template can be imported in to a WebCTRL system. It allows you
to create and read a report (schedules for example) over a period of time. You
can then start to analyze that information either monthly or yearly and monitor
the data for trends or any inefficiency. Another nice feature is you can
potentially print and email these reports out to customer.

How to Order Graphics
Step 1 –
Log into dealer website
Then 1, select the Engineering tab at the top and 2, Graphics in the black bar:
Step 2 – Fill out Graphics order Form
Select “Place a Standard Order” in the menu.
Step 3 – Attach submittal material to order
When attaching the submitted files please make sure you zip up the files. You
can only attach 1 file to the order form. If the file is larger than 5MB then you
may have to attach it to the File Exchange. The link to the file exchange is on the
order form, but from the dealer website it is located under the Site Map & Tools
tab.

Requirements for Submittal
Maps, make sure all controlled buildings (as well as any future potential work) are
marked on the map.
Elevations and logos, please make sure the photo is clean and crisp. We should
be able to see what color the building is or the logo should not be blurry with
rough edges. Vector based images are best like jpgs, gifs, etc. so we are easily
manipulated.
Floorplans, ask yourself if the plans are clear enough to draw from if you had to
do the work? The floorplans should show all the walls, and the zones should be
well defined with different colors (if applicable). Please submit only those plans
that we will be drawing. If you order 4 floor plans you only need to submit 4 floor
plans (maybe 8 if you have with and without zones), but please not 20 or 50!
Equipment, the submittal can be a set of Visio files. If you would like us to
program it then please add the points to the Visio file you want on the graphic as
well as if they are binary or analog points. For example, it is not always clear if a
valve is programmed as On/Off or as 0 – 100%. This is why clarification is
necessary.
Custom work, add as many notes as you can to the order form or add a
document explaining what it is you would like. The more thought you have put
into what it is you want to see the less time it will take to create for you.

Submittal Tips & Tricks
Summary
On the Graphics order form, if you only need 1 floorplan created please do not
select 1 summary. Additions to a project are the only reason 1 summary and 1
floorplan should be ordered because edits need to be made to the summary.
Floorplan
When submitting for floorplans, we only need drawings such as architectural or
fire escape plans for a clear depiction of the interior walls. Despite what you
might think, we do not need the plans with ductwork for the ventilation system
(HVAC mechanical plans). The ductwork usually covers up what we need to
see….the walls.
Also, please do not send in several plans if we are not drawing them. When there
are 50 or more pages to sift through it is taking longer to process your order as
well as taking longer to get to other orders. Please be courteous and pull out of
the .pdf just the plans needed for this work.
Floor plan with ductwork overlay
When submitting for ductwork overlay, we need the ductwork highlighted from
the equipment (ex. AHU) down to the diffusers. There is a lot of information on
these plans and you may not want to see all of the ductwork so we do ask that
you highlight (preferable in different colors) to show us what you want to see.
If you want us to do the programming then a working database is required at the
time of submitting.
