A Reflection from a Watchkeeping Video
As I watched the video it makes me excited to be able to work on-board.
The possibilities of having such opportunities ignites a powerful drive to me, to
better know things, principles and other related information on-board that I
will be able to utilized as an application in the future. Being able to observe a
watchkeeping from the video makes me more eager to learn new stuffs, for this
can motivate me to improve my over-all well being as a preparation for the
reality on-board.
From the video, I can really feel the desire of the officers to do their jobs
at a maximum level without compromising safety and machinery faults that
may delay any transactions. I believe that if they can do it, I can also do it also
in my own simple ways. I will put extra effort in discovering new ideas and put
these ideas into application to equip myself, to be more effective and reliable in
the field of work. For I believed that hardwork is talent; anyone can achieve
their goals in life with correct motivation and execution.
It is hard to bear in mind that at some time we will be apart from our
loved ones, although a cadet or an officer should be strong enough to endure
every situation to provide a better living for his family. As I observed the
officers from the video, they are really driven by their passion, courage and
bravery to undergo such obstacles just to promote self-growth and provide to
their families. Likewise, for me in the future, I should gear myself with sufficient
driven mentality to provide the needs of my family, improve myself and be a
better role model to the aspiring seafarers in the future.
