YEAR 1 CAS REFLECTION WHAT CAS MEANS TO ME My year 1 cas experience was definitely full of surprises, it’s more focused on stepping outside my comfort zone and interacting with people outside my Group of friends and developing meaningful connections with others. This year I definitely lean more towards environmental activities, which hopefully I will be doing in the future. Frankly, CAS was totally different from the previous CNS and SISSA that I’ve joined for the last 4 years, CAS allows me to not only do services that are beneficial for my soul and others who needed the help, but CAS allows me to explore on my creativity and activity that encouraged me to explore more about myself as an individual. Doing CAS surely lifts up my mood and I think of it as a break from all of the hectic, piled-up schoolworks and deadlines. But, ever since the pandemic, several plans for CAS activities were canceled and it’s truly disheartening because my friends and I were supposed to open up a shop to help endangered animals in Jogja. This year I’m positive that I was able to meet my aims and goals, and met the learning outcomes. After one year of doing CAS, I realized that I've become better and more well-rounded as a person. However, i definitely think that I can still do more and help more people in the future, I won’t stop doing CAS just because I’ve accomplished my aims and goals and the learning outcomes, I enjoy doing CAS to the fullest because i think that it’s a great opportunity for me to become more self-aware, be an empath, and meet new people so that I can put myself in their shoes.
