Insulin Giving Procedure:

Wash hands
→
Check blood sugar level
→
Record blood sugar level
→
Attach needle to pen ( screw top on)
→
Remove outer cap
→
Remove inner cap
→
Dial up 2 units
→
Expel 2 units into the air – watch it come out
→
Dial up required dose
→
Pinch skin with LEFT hand and insert needle with RIGHT hand
→
Push button on END with thumb all the way in
→
Count to 10 seconds
→
Remove the needle from skin
→
Put on needle cap and unscrew from pen
→
Discard needle to SHARPS bin ( yellow)
→
Record the dose you have given.
