Positive sign indicates movement to the right
of the number line.
Negative sign indicates movement to the left
of the number line.
An Integer minus a positive integer.
For example: 2 – ( +3)
An Integer minus a negative integer.
For example: 2 – ( −3)
We begin at the point 2 on the number line and wish to
move to the negative direction because of the first
negative sign. However, the second negative on -3 tells
us to move in the opposite direction.
