Research and compare the following versions of vSphere: 5.0, 6.0, 6.5 and 6.7. What were the major new features for each version? New features in vSphere include ESXi quick boot, VM encryption, TPM updates, backup scheduler, vSPhere client, and many more. Quick boot allows for faster restarts and patching which is important for improving workflow. It is now possible to enable encryption on existing VM machines instead of restarting with new ones. vTPM is like normal trusted platform modules but for approved virtual machine credentials. The improved vSphere client now runs on HTML5 and has additional features. Research the VCP certification. Develop a plan for you to take the certification (what tools would you use to prepare and how would you study?). What are the major components of the exam? VCP stands for VMware Certified Professional. VMware is the company that owns vSphere that we will be working with. The test to become a VCP is called the vSphere Foundations Exam. It includes 85 questions with 90 minutes to complete them. 75% or better is required to pass. Each attempt will cost $225. There are many additional exams and certifications that specialize in a specific technology track. The certification only lasts for two years and then the exam must be retaken. I plan to learn as much as I can in this class to prepare myself for this certification exam. NETLAB+: VMware vSphere ICM 6.7 Lab 1 - Navigating the vSphere Web Client. Take two screenshots towards the end of the lab. What did you learn? Include all items in one Word file and submit via this assignment link. See next page for pictures. I learned what the actual interface looks like on this product for the first time. I learned how to move around to different devices and menus. I feel confident navigating around.
