How relevant and applicable are the course The course contents are very relevant and contents in helping you enhance your applicable in enhancing my competencies as a 21st competencies as 21st Century teacher? century teacher as it provides us with the latest updates, trends, and pedagogies in education. It also helps us improves ourselves as teachers especially in the use of technology in today’s trend of giving instruction through ICT and facilitating learning emphasis on collaborative learning. We should also be equipped with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values so that we could also develop it to our 21st century learners. What challenges or difficulties did you There are several challenges or difficulties that I experience during the course? encountered during the course. One of these and I think is the biggest reason is time management that I really learned the hard way during the SEAMEO. Due to a lot of demand in our teaching profession, I really have to set time to read the modules and required readings as well as make time in making the course requirements. Another difficulty which happens sometimes during chat sessions was the poor signal connection. There are END OF COURSE REFLECTION PAPER / QUESTIONNAIRE cases wherein I am automatically logged out and I cannot participate anymore in our chat. I need to refresh my internet connection and log in again. What significant learning insights did you The significant learning insights that I gained from this course are: A 21st century teacher should gain from the course? be equipped with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values which is important in 21st century education. A teacher should teach/model so that learners will emulate the teacher. He/she should also be a subject matter expert, a great facilitator of learning, and a firm classroom manager to ensure quality of learning among learners. What areas related to your being a 21st The area that I think I need to improve on as a century Teacher/Facilitator/Classroom 21st century classroom manager is on classroom Manager do you still need to improve on management. This is because I have pupils who behave, act and think differently compared to and why? his/her classmates. Though I have established and posted classroom rules and regulations as well as letting them sign in anecdotal records and call the attention of their parents, I am progressing slowly. On the other hand, I think I am in good position being a 21st century teacher and a facilitator of learning. FLT it is filled with many challenges, difficulties accompanied with a lot of new learning that really helped me improve my perspective as a 21st century teacher. It really helped me to become an effective and efficient teacher. In chat sessions, I experienced being nervous, END OF COURSE REFLECTION PAPER / QUESTIONNAIRE excited and I learned a lot in the discussions and activities together with our FLT, ASDS Jean Veloso and my flexible learning classmates. In forum, I am updated and challenged to pass on time the activities required to us. In course requirements, it is really relevant and applicable in our field. In our FLT competency, the content is really timely as it is focused on the 21st century teaching and learning. In online modality, it is my first time experienced but I feel much pressure to do my best compared to attending Saturday and Sunday graduate classes. Overall, the experienced was a great. What are your other comments/suggestions For suggestion, maybe the SEAMEO management for improving the content coverage and the could add 2 more chat sessions to make it into 6 way the course will be delivered in the chat sessions while doing the remaining course future delivered? requirements so that flexible learners will have more time in reading and reflecting as well as exchanging ideas together in the coverage of the course.
