A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates an understanding of the law of supply and demand, and factors affecting the
economic situation.

The learners shall be able to conduct a survey of current economic situations within the vicinity. C.

5. Analyze the effects of contemporary issues such as migration, fluctuations in the exchange rate, oil
price increases, unemployment, peace and order, etc. on the purchasing power of the people
D. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Describe the characteristics and distinguish the features of the market structures (perfect
competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition, and oligopoly);
2. Relate population growth the country’s labor supply and apply the law of demand and
supply in the determination of wages of labor
3. Deduce how the excess supply of labor has led to the phenomenon of the overseas
Filipino workers
