Surname 1 Student’s Name: Professor’s Name: Class: Date: My Story as an Athlete An athlete is a person who is skilled or trained in games, sports, or exercises requiring physical stamina, agility, or strength. I have been more than an athlete. I still attended the university while participating at the top level. The most essential individuals in this concern were my mother and father. From my childhood, they usually emphasized that I should attend the university and discover my profession. Despite the greatness of sport, it will stop one day and I will grow old and leave it. They informed me that I can’t contest in sports forever, and should be prepared to for the subsequent stage. Youth Olympic Games Singapore 2010 was My initial encounter in sports administration when I was team Slovakia’s young ambassador. It was a nice encounter and I decided to move further. I did diploma in sports, and international sports and relations diplomacy was the topic of my thesis. Afterwards, I joined Slovakia National Olympics Committee who assisted me very much. They offered me an internship where I worked with the secretary of European Olympic Committee for four weeks. From here, I decided to participate in the IOC athletes’ association. Every time, I liked representing athletes in the IOC, which was my vision. All of us have personal problems and encounter similar conditions: we participate, we train, we compete and majority of us ignores how to guarantee the representation of our rights, how to safeguard our needs, or mind of whatever is coming next. My NOC supported me a lot and offered me a chance to contest in 2012 elections of IOC Athletes’ commission, which was my life-changing and amazing time. Several things has transformed since my first appointment. Our commission is very hard-working and has achieved a lot in safeguarding athletes. When I made up my mind to contest for the vice-chairman of AC, I understood that it would be very demanding. It is such a hard task since athletes believe in you and think that you have to stand for them. Any information and response we receive, we have the authority to present it and request for the support of the members, executive board, and the president of IOC. This marks the seventh year as a member of IOC. It is remarkable to be an AC member since when I attend Olympic Games and went to meet individuals at the Olympic village; they had had hope and trusted me. If anybody had any concern, they approached me, which allowed me to depend on their response to IOC. It is good to realize that IOC considers the athletes. We ensure that their concerns are properly safeguarded. There are several methods of getting athletes involved though we wish to talk to everybody who wishes to be among the Surname 2 decision-making. We ensure your response is represented, your views are heard and you are represented. I would advise you to contact us for any issue you would like to raise. We speak for the athletes, and can present these concerns and speak about them everywhere we can. The worldwide athletes’ forum of 2021 will be unique since it will be the most massive forum. We will invite almost 350 participants to talk about essential issues to them and look for general answers to questions concerning communication, anti-adopting and integrity, non-sporting and sporting professions, and athlete representation among others. I believe we will carry out a productive dialogue, listen to several encounters and opinions and draw future recommendations.
