SIR JULY: good afternoon hannah HANNAH: good afternoon sir! SJ: seems like your not having a good day today? H: I guess so. SJ: care to share? H: I just don’t feel good because maybe I don’t like the character of our new employed staff in our office. SJ: Let’s give her a chance to express herself to everyone and maybe we might as well not judge too early. Showing kindness to someone you don’t like is really hard. But you just might surprise yourself when you take the high road. You have to remember that it’s not about the other person, it’s about us and who we choose to be in that moment. we have seen so much pain and heartbreak. So many lives needlessly ended. So much heartbreak and loss. It’s a normal reaction to want to protect yourself from all of that horror and isolate into your own safe space. The problem is that when everyone does that, we lose truly important connections with our community and even ourselves. H: maybe you’re right sir. I learned a lot with you like, Being kind seems to buffer the negative effects stress has on us. It allows us to connect with other people and build meaningful relationships. SJ: When someone does us a kindness, we feel connected and more willing to cooperate with them. When we do something nice for someone, we cultivate trust, and we feel good about ourselves for being a kind person. H: I’ll take your advice Sir July. Thanks for the time. SJ: you’re welcome hannah
