Cell Specialization – Special Cell Profiles In class, we learned about the basic structure of animal and plant cells. However, it’s actually way more complicated than that! There are different types of animal cells and different types of plant cells, and they each have different structures based on their different functions/locations in the organism. With this activity, we’re going to explore a bit more into how human cells can be different from other human cells! FIRST, answer this question: What is cell specialization? ________________________________________________________________________ Next, using your laptop, search for an image of each special cell below and create a “special cell profile” for it. (Basically, we’re like the FBI making profiles for cells on our watch list.) Include an image of it and a description of where in the body it can be found, as well as what its main job is.
