Assignment #3: Explore AAE Specializations
Due on Brightspace by Friday, March 31st 11:59 PM
The goal of this exercise is to help you become familiar with Specialization Areas within the
AAE Department. To do that, we will ask you to look at videos and presentations with more
information about the curriculum, research and job opportunities in your area(s) of interest.
As you prepare ahead for your future classes, you’ll need to decide on a Specialization area.
All this means is that some of the classes you take will be focused specifically on this area,
but you’ll still have the chance to take other classes that interest you as well, even if they
don’t fall under this specialization. Your advisor is a great person to ask if you have any
questions on how specializations fit in with degree requirements. If you want any additional
information on a particular specialization, try reaching out to a professor in that area and
see what sort of research they’re involved in!
Please follow the following steps to earn your participation point:
1. Access the resources regarding your Specialization Area on Brightspace under Module 3.
2. After you watch the videos/presentations, complete the survey at
https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_elA0vG7BsVO8fbg
3. Finally, read through the Graduate Course Disclaimer on Brightspace for some useful
information to keep in mind if you plan on registering for any 500 level courses, now or
in the future.
4. Complete the survey and upload the submission receipt as your Assignment 3 on
Brightspace. Due by Friday, March 31st at 11:59 PM
