Furthermore, it is aimed to find the optimal maintenance plans that minimize overall maintenance cost or maximize the system performance measure for the gas turbines at AGOCO (or both). At the beginning a brief company profile is presented. Then an up-to-date maintenance types and strategies are reviewed. Based on the performed literature study, maintenance data of the current maintenance program of the gas turbines at the AGOCO were collected and methods of investigating and evaluating the performance of the current turbine maintenance system are then employed. Results showed that current maintenance system can be improved, and methods of the feasible and practical solutions to improve the current maintenance system are proposed and discussed. In conclusion, results showed that the modern condition based maintenance system (CBM), if suitably employed, could be a better strategy than the current preventive maintenance system (PM) currently employed at the company, which would have both economical and performance measures benefits.
