Practice the Disaster Plan - Individuals can feel more confident in their ability to handle an emergency by practicing what to do before one occurs. This can also help reduce stress at the time. 3. Locate safe places in your home for each type of disaster. - Locating safe places in the home helps the family be safe and can stay away from danger immediately. 4. Identifying hazards - Identifying hazards is the first step in Risk Management, it implies that hazards that are not identified would not go through the rigor of the Risk Management process, leading to the non-identification of preventive measures for implementation and communication to prevent harm. 5. Assemble a disaster supply kit - When preparing for any type of emergency, a disaster supply kit is a must-have item. The purpose of an emergency kit is to ensure the safety and survival of the person or persons using it.
