BAP-2020-910) Laatst aangepast : 18/12/2020 The newly founded Leuven Institute for Micro- and Nanoscale Integration (LIMNI) is looking for a motivated manager who is not afraid to be the locomotive of a new initiative and sees this as an opportunity. KU Leuven hosts a wide variety of researchers that work at the micro- and nanoscale. Many of these groups are wellknown or even world-leading in their respective elds. However, sharing and integrating the knowledge of these experts and building a network of external partners is required to address tomorrow’s challenges. LIMNI targets these untapped opportunities by providing a structure to coordinate activities, and explore, develop, and exploit strategic synergies. Website unit Responsibilities As the LIMNI manager,you will be the central point of access for interested parties, both within andoutside of the university. It will be your role to take initiatives including,but not limited to: · organizing seminar series and training activities · organizing industry-sponsored workshops · establishing a network of external partners · setting up and managing multi-partner researchprojects · setting up technology roadmaps and identifyingresearch opportunities · develop new and consolidate existing micro- andnanofabrication expertise in a portfolio of robust process modules · integrating materials and other technologiesdeveloped by LIMNI researchers at the wafer scale or system level · facilitating the fabrication of demonstrators · providing consultancy on micro- andnanofabrication · integration of materials and other technologiesdeveloped by institute members at wafer scale or system level · disseminate the expertise and services o ered byLIMNI researchers Pro le We are looking for: / · A motivated and proactive candidate with a PhD (in Microelectronics, Microsystem Technology (or MEMS), Materials Chemistry, Physics, or a related eld in Science and Engineering) or equivalent through experience, e.g. in industry. · A self-driven individual who takes initiative to build bridges between di erent disciplines within KU Leuven and between the university and external partners. · A passion for novel materials, chemistry, physics and technology, and willing to work as part of an interdisciplinary team. · Since we target real-world applications through our research, an interest in valorization (e.g., spin-o creation) and identi cation of research needs (e.g., through setting up technology roadmaps)is required.
