HOW ARE
EMOTIONS
GENERATED?
Aristotle said,
“ANYONE CAN BECOME ANGRY,
that is easy, but to be angry with
the right person, to the right
degree, at the right time, for the
right purpose, and in the right way
– that is not easy”.
That is what is called as adequate
expression and control of emotions.

HOW EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
WORKS?
The A-B-C of Emotional
Intelligence
A – Activating Events
B – Belief [Rational / Irrational]
C - Consequence
EIGHT STEPS FOR
TRANSFORMING
EMOTIONS
INTO JOY.
1
ACCEPT YOUR
EMOTION
AND TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY
OF YOUR
OWN EMOTIONS.
2
GIVE NAME TO YOUR
EMOTIONS
3
LET GO OFF THE
EMOTIONAL
“STORY”
4
IDENTIFY YOUR
EMOTIONAL
“BELIEF”
5
FEEL THE
EMOTION
“FULLY”
CRY IF REQUIRED DON’T ALWAYS BE A GOOD BOY/GIRL.
6
ASK FOR LIGHT AND CLARITY
AS TO REASON FOR YOUR
UNKNOWN
EMOTION
7
IDENTIFY THE
INAPPROPRIATE BELIEF
AT THE ROOT OF YOUR
EMOTION
Belief behind Extreme Negative
EMOTION
• Anxiety – Will the worst happen
(it surly will)
• Concern – Worst may happen and
best may happen, I will try to convert
possibility into probability.
Belief behind Extreme Negative
EMOTION
• Depression – Worst had already
happen!
• Sadness - I had not asked for it
but let me see what I can
do for it.
Belief behind Extreme Negative
EMOTION
• Anger -
The worst has already
happen because of HIM.
• Irritation - His performance has
given me inconvenience,
.
Yet I will not label him.
Belief behind Extreme Negative
EMOTION

only because of me.
