Chemical Safety Chemical exposure may result in serious health problems. This is why we have guidelines for who can work with it and how to be safe while working. Keeping safe around chemicals Always know where the nearest safety shower / eye wash is in case of an emergency. Always wash your hands and any other areas that may have come into contact after handling chemicals. In case of a spill, remove all clothing and thoroughly wash all areas where the chemical contacted your skin. Always wear proper PPE such as a tightly fitted respirator, fit-for-purpose rubber gloves and arm protection, safety goggles, and protective clothing. Conduct routine inspection of the area where chemicals are stored and/or handled to ensure that they are stored in a safe manner. Correct all non-compliance issues immediately.
