Personal Finance MA35 Travel Presentation – Planning a Vacation You will be required to present a trip of your choosing. You may choose any mode(s) of travel that are available and realistic (plane, car, train, bus, bicycle, motorcycle, walking/hiking). Sorry space travel will be too expensive for you considering the budget you will have. For this project you will plan out a 7 day vacation. You will plan all the details of the trip, create a travel plan and 7 daily itineraries (daily plans) that detail what will be done and how much money will be spent. You will have a budget of $2100 for the 7 days which will cover ALL expenses such as transportation, hotel, food, activities, etc. Your presentation must include the following components and must be 3-5 minutes in length. What websites you used to get the information? Where you are going? How you are going to get there (car, bus, plane, etc.) and how long it will take (travel time)? Where you are staying once you’re there? What you plan to do on your vacation? Daily itineraries for each day that includes your vacation budget calculations. Pictures of the mode of transportation, lodging, places and activities. If you are doing any driving, using your own car, use a cost of $0.50 per mile for gas, insurance, maintenance, etc. If you use any public transportation, don’t forget those costs as well. If you rent a car, don’t forget all the fees involved. Don’t forget you will also need to determine approximate costs for your meals. Your budget for the trip is $2100, which must cover ALL expenses, so plan wisely and account for every cent. You must compute the per person cost if multiple persons will be involved in the vacation plan. You must have all information related to the vacation in your presentation. Remember every cent must be accounted for. A sample itinerary for a single day is attached. You must have one for each day. Your itinerary needs to include a date, time, and activity, how much was spent on each activity, the total amount spent for of each day and an overall total for the 7 days. A list of travel web sites is attached that you may choose from to help with your planning. These are only suggestions to help you get started. Presentations will be a project grade and you will be assessed by the attached rubric. Have fun with this!! This is your final project grade. You must email me a copy of your final presentation by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017. This is the due date for your project.
