VECIDA - TYPE A, TYPE B, TYPE D

advertisement
TYPE A, TYPE B, TYPE D
VECIDA, NOEL JR. B.
TYPE A, WATER – REDUCING ADMIXTURES

USED TO REDUCE THE WATER REQUIREMENT OF THE
MIXTURE FOR A GIVEN SLUMP, PRODUCE CONCRETE OF
HIGHER STRENGTH, OBTAIN SPECIFIED STRNEGTH AT
LOWER CEMENT CONTENT, OR INCREASE THE SLUMP
OF A GIVEN MIXTURE WITHOUT AN INCREASE IN WATER
CONTENT

MAY IMPROVE THE PROPERTIES OF CONCRETE
CONTAINING AGGREGATES THAT ARE HARSH, POORLY
GRADED, OR BOTH.

USEFUL WHEN PLACING CONCRETE BY MEANS OF A
PUMP OR TREMIE.
TYPE A, WATER – REDUCING ADMIXTURES
TYPICAL USE

TO DECREASE THE MIXING WATER CONTENT BY 5% TO
12% DEPENDING ON THE ADMIXTURE, DOSAGE, AND
OTHER MATERIALS AND PROPORTIONS.

THE DOSAGE IS BASED ON THE CEMENTITIOUS
MATERIALS CONTNET OF THE CONCRETE MIXTURE

DOSAGE IS EXPRESSED IN mL/100kg
TYPE A, WATER – REDUCING ADMIXTURES
TYPICAL DOSAGE

RANGE FROM 130 mL to 390 ml PER 100 kg OF
CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS.

HIGHER DOSAGE MAY RESULT IN EXCESSIVE
RETARDITION OF CONCRETE SETTING TIME.

DOSAGE RATES SHOULD BE FOLLOWED AND TRIAL
BATCHES WITH LOCAL MATERIALS .
TYPE B, RETARDING and TFYPE D, WATER
– REDUCING and RETARDING ADMISTURE
CONVENTIONAL RETARDING ADMIXTURE
USED FOR THE SAME BASIC PUPOSE

TO OFFSET UNWANTED EFFECTS OF HIGH
TEMPERATURE, SUCH AS ACCELERATION OF SET AND
REDUCTION OF 28 DAYS COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH, AND
TO KEEP CONCRETE WORKABLE DURING THE ENTIRE
PLACING AND CONSOLODATION PERIOD
TYPE B, RETARDING and TFYPE D, WATER
– REDUCING and RETARDING ADMISTURE
BENEFITS
1.
PERMITS GREATER FLEXIBILITY IN EXTENDING THE
TIME OF SET AND THE PREVENTION OF COLD JOINTS
2.
FACILITATES FINISHING IN HOT WEATHER
3.
PERMITS FULL FORM DEFLECTION BEFORE INITIAL SET
CONCRETE.
TYPE B, RETARDING and TFYPE D, WATER
– REDUCING and RETARDING ADMISTURE
TYPICAL DOSAGE

THE AMOUNT OF RETARDATION DEPENDS UPON MAY
FACTORS INCLUDING:
1.
ADMIXTURE CONCENTRATION
2.
DOSAGE RATE
3.
CONCRETE PROPORTIONS
4.
AMBIENT AND CONCRETE TEMPERATURES.

HIGH DOSAGE OF RETARDING ADMIXTURE ARE USED, HOWEVER,
RAPID STIFFENING CAN OCCURE WITH SOME CEMENTS, RESULTING
IN SEVERE SLUPM LOSS AND DIFFICULTIES IN CONRETE PLACEMENT,
CONSOLODATION, and FINISHING.
TYPE B, RETARDING and TFYPE D, WATER
– REDUCING and RETARDING ADMISTURE
EXTENDED – SET ADMIXTURES

CAPABLE OF STOPPING THE HYDRATION OF PORTLAND
CEMENT, THEREBY PROVIDING A MEANS TO CONTROL
THE HYDRATION AND SETTING CHARACTERISTIC OF
CONCRETE.
TYPE B, RETARDING and TYPE D, WATER
– REDUCING and RETARDING ADMIXTURE
EXTENDED – SET ADMIXTURES; USED IN 3
PRIMARY APPLICATION
1.
STABILIZATION OF CONCRETE WASH WATER
2.
STABILIZATION OF RETURNED PLASTIC CONCRETE
3.
STABILIZATION OF FRESHLY BATCHED CONCRETE FOR
LONG HAULS.
TYPE B, RETARDING and TFYPE D, WATER
– REDUCING and RETARDING ADMISTURE
STABILIZATION OF CONCRETE WASH WATER

USED TO WASH OUT A READY – MIXED CONCRETE TRUCK
DRUM WHILE KEEPING THE FINS AND INNER DRUM
CLEAN.
TYPE B, RETARDING and TFYPE D, WATER
– REDUCING and RETARDING ADMISTURE
STABILIZATION OF RETURNED PLASTIC CONCRETE
STABILIZATION OF FRESHLY BATCHED CONCRETE
FOR LONG HAULS.

TO STABILIZE RETURNED CONCRETE HAS MADE IT
POSSIBLE TO REUSE SUCH CONCRETE DURING THE SAME
PRODUCTION DAY OR THE NEXT DAY.

USE OF EXTENDED – SET ADMIXTURES TO STABILIZE
RETURNED UNHARDENED CONCRETE HAS MADE IT
POSSIBLE TO REUSE SUCH CONCRETE DURING THE SAME
PRODUCTION DAY OR NEXT DAY.
