H 2/2018 Introducing T-Doble 3.4.2 Version 3.4.2 of T-Doble is now available. This point release includes only very minor changes from v3.4.0. Generally speaking, if you are running T-Doble 3.4.0, there is no reason to upgrade to version 3.4.2 unless you are experiencing difficulties connecting to the Doble Database from within the T-Doble application. Changes in version 3.4.2 are as follows: • • • • • Fixed some minor issues with the tdconverter.exe file converter utility that is part of the installation package. Added support for the TDR9100 instrument use of the autorun special test mode. Added a run-time switch option that prevents the user from changing Doble Database login info. This option is intended for use in locked-down DUC-Enterprise deployments. Extended the login timeout period for connecting to the Doble Database to reduce timeouts for users with large numbers of files. Added caching of filenames downloaded from the Doble Database to avoid delays caused by repeated downloading. T-Doble 3.4.2 supports the TDR9100, TDR900, and TDR9000 instruments. Much information in this release note is applicable to all sub-versions of T-Doble v3.4. Information applicable to this specific release will be noted with the full sub-version number.T-Doble software and documentation downloads are available at: http://www.doble.com/support/download_tdoble-tdr.html TDR9000 and TDR900 Preliminary Note No firmware updates are required for TDR9000 or TDR900 instruments to be used with T-Doble v3.4. 72A-3239-01 Rev. Other Information Regarding This Release Issues Resolved in T-Doble 3.4.2 Issue resolved in this release The password field has been removed from the Preferences section. 72A-3239-01 Rev. H 2/2018 Reference # TD-686 13 T-Doble™ 3.4.2 Software Release Note Issue resolved in this release Reference # The timeout limit has been extended when connecting to the Doble Database from within T-Doble. This fixes a problem where some users with large number of files in the database were experiencing timeouts before all of their file information could be downloaded. TD-692 File information downloaded into T-Doble's "Doble Database" sub-tab is now being cached in memory to eliminate long refresh times every time the tab is accessed. Now the file information will only be refreshed on initial connection or if the user clicks the Refresh button. TD-693 The column headers in French are now correct. TD-684 The auto-connect feature of the built-in Doble Database access has been disabled to meet security requirements for some DUC-Enterprise deployments. TD-685 Limitations in T-Doble 3.4: General • • • The built-in help files do not include the new features introduced in versions 3.3.0, 3.3.1, or 3.4. The User Guide was not updated for this release. Some new text strings in T-Doble have not yet been translated for non-English language modes. Limitations in T-Doble 3.4: TDR9100 • • 14 20 kHz sample rate is not available in ganged TDR9100 configurations. Ganged operation is not supported for OCB or GCB-style tests. You can define an OCB or GCB test on a ganged instrument configuration, but T-Doble will not run it. 72A-3239-01 Rev. TDR9100 instruments shipped with T-Doble 3.3.1 or later have already received the upgrade. TDR9100 instruments returned for service after February of 2014 should have received the upgrade. Call Doble Customer Service to arrange an upgrade for an older instrument. Known Issues with T-Doble 3.4 - General Known Issue in this Release Workaround or Solution Reference # Analog traces disappear from the plot when you zoom too far. Avoid using high zoom values. TD-666 At the 500Hz sampling rate, no resistance values are reported in the tabulation when the resistance measurement is supported by the instrument. Use a higher sample rate for testing. TD-654 When a test result is displayed, if you change the ratio for the Travel Transducer, T-Doble does not update the velocity trace. None TD-648 On the Triggering, Timing tab, when a Timing Reference for a C-O test result is set to use a Trip Current or Close Current value, the tabulated timing results are not recalculated. None TD-527 Using cursors in the Overlay plots tab with results that contain many channels can cause T-Doble to slow down or stop responding, especially when you drag a cursor. Also, overlaying results with extremely high numbers of channels may cause some channels not to appear in the overlay plot. Avoid using cursors when comparing test results with very large numbers of channels. TD-535, TD-465 When results from tests performed with different sample rates are overlaid, some of the plot time-scales are incorrectly represented. Overlay test results only if the tests were all performed using the same sample rate. TD-231 72A-3239-01 Rev. H 2/2018 15 T-Doble™ 3.4.2 Software Release Note Known Issues with T-Doble 3.4 and TDR9100 Known Issue in this Release Workaround or Solution Reference # When a Capacitance test in progress is canceled, an incorrect message states that “The test failed to start.” Click OK and continue.
