SOCIAL PROBLEMS IN MY COMMUNITY Quality of life- The dilemma of the farmer had become a major problem. Several basic factors were involved-soil exhaustion, the vagaries of nature, overproduction of staple crops, decline in self-sufficiency, and lack of adequate legislative protection and aid. Poverty - Because that the land retention ceiling under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) ensured that small farmers will never get out of poverty. However, if they/re tilling traditional crops like rice, corn or coconut, there is no way they will earn a decent income from farming. Education- Farm workers and their families face a unique set of challenges in getting an education. Many farm workers have completed relatively few years of formal schooling. Their priority may be survival rather than going to school. However, even if they did have the time, energy, and financial resources to go to school, educational institutions are usually located far away from farm worker communities, and transportation is limited. Substandard Housing- Most of farmers has their own house but their house was made in wood, and roof. Sometimes if there was a typhoon they will suffer so much because their house is not that strong built enough for typhoon. That’s why they suffer so much and need a stable home.
