Welding Shop Rules and Regulations
1. All cell phones and any electronic devices must be put away during instructional time
and while working in the welding shop.
2. Safety glasses must always be worn in the welding shop.
3. Work shirts must be worn while in the shop and must always be tucked in.
4. Denim jeans must be worn while working in the shop. They must not have holes or be
frayed at the bottom of the leg.
5. If your hair is long, ladies or gentlemen, it must be pulled back tightly to prevent it
from catching on fire AND can also get caught in rotating equipment.
6. No jewelry (necklaces, rings, bracelets…etc) may be worn while in the shop. Gold,
silver, platinum are great conductors of electricity.
7. Safety shoes must be worn completely covering the entire foot. Steel toe boots
preferred.
8. Never operate welding equipment while standing on wet or damp floors.
9. Make sure that your ventilation is placed to the fume source as possible.
10. Never operate any welder, grinder, cutter, or any other welding equipment without
the supervision from your instructor.
