TechieFitness Privacy Policy
TechieFitness knows that you care how the information collected by the FitBand device is used
and shared. This notice describes our privacy policy. By purchasing a TechieFitness product, you
agree to the terms and practices described herein.
II.
What Personal Information About Users Does TechieFitness Gather?
When worn properly according to the instruction, the information collected by
the FitBand fitness device enables users to keep track of several health and fitness related
metrics. This information is automatically transmitted and stored in the TechieFitness cloud
where users are able to access it anytime from any computer or mobile device using
the FitBand app which users can download here (Links to an external site.). In addition to
providing you with valuable information about your health, daily fitness habits and lifestyle,
collecting this information also helps TechieFitness learn more about our customers so that we
can provide a better product and improve the overall FitBand experience. Here are the types of
information TechieFitness gathers from the FitBand:
1. Information Collected by TechnieFitness: When you buy and register a FitBand device
through the TechieFitness website or authorized retailer, we receive and store the
financial information you provide to complete the transaction including the method of
payment, billing address, your name and age. When purchasing online, we also have
you complete a brief survey that asks where you learned
about TechieFitness or FitBand and your reasons for purchasing the device. This
information helps us improve the FitBand experience for all customers. When you
download the FitBand fitness app, we also record certain information about your device
as described below to ensure that software updates are compatible.
2. Information Collected by the FitBand Device: The FitBand Device collects
information such as heartrate, blood pressure, blood sugar level, calories burned, time
spent at rest, exercising, food and drinks consumed, and hours slept at night.
Because FitBand records important health care information, we have provided the
required HIPAA disclosure that permits us to release information we collect to
your healthcare provider. Additionally the HIPAA disclosure permits
your healthcare provider to release your medical records to FitBand so that we can
customize your workout regimen. FitBand can also be programed to keep track of how
many hours you spend on the computer, mobile device and watching television to
encourage users to make healthier lifestyle choices.
3. Mobile: When you download or use the app created by TechieFitness (Links to an
external site.) we may also receive information about your location and mobile device,
including a unique identifier for that device. By downloading the app, you agree that we
may lawfully access information on your mobile device consistent with healthy lifestyle
monitoring embedded in FitBand. We may use this information to provide you with
location-based services, such as advertising, promotions and special offers and the
location of gyms and fitness centers near you.
4. E-mail Communications: To help us make e-mails more useful and interesting, we often
receive a confirmation when you open e-mail from TechieFitness. We also compare our
customer list to lists received from our affiliated companies in an effort to avoid sending
you duplicative and unnecessary messages. Because email may sometimes be sent to
a spam filter, you agree that we may release FitBand emails from any spam filter from
our remote location.
5. Information from Other Sources: We may receive information about you from other
sources such as our affiliates and add it to your account profile.
III.
Does TechieFitness.com Share the Information It Receives?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business. We may share or sell data
collected from your device to third party affiliates for marketing and related purposes as
described below.
1. Affiliated Businesses: We work closely with affiliated businesses that sell our products
such as gyms, fitness centers, health food stores, active wear retailers and exercise
equipment stores. We also work with affiliated businesses that sell goods and services
we think compliment our products and are a good match for customers who are
interested in living a healthy lifestyle. In such cases we may share customer information
with those affiliated businesses but only to the extent they agree to be covered by the
terms of this Privacy Policy.
2. Promotional Offers: Sometimes we send offers to selected TechieFitness customers on
behalf of our affiliated businesses. If you do not want to receive such offers, we suggest
you contact us at the following address: no-opt-out-option@techiefitness.com. In the
event the link is inactive, you can send a hand written notarized statement of your intent
to opt out of the promotional offers to our corporate headquarters in Lawless, Nigeria.
3. Business Transfers: In the unlikely event that TechieFitness is sold or its assets are
acquired by another company, customer information may be one of the transferred
assets.
4. Protection of User Information: We release account and other personal information in
response to requests from law enforcement and other government authorities seeking
such records. We may also occasionally share and exchange information with financial
and credit card companies for purposes of fraud prevention, detection and credit risk
reduction. We will safeguard your HIPAA information when we receive it unless it is
necessary to utilize it for a legitimate business purpose.
5. With Your Consent: Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when
information about you might be transmitted to non-affiliated third parties, and
you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
IV.
How Secure Is Information About Me?
1. The security of your personal information is very important to TechieFit and that’s why
we back up all user information in the TechieFitness cloud so that it is safe from data
breaches.
2. You can access personal information stored in the cloud by creating a unique security
PIN that consists of the last four digits of your social security number. We also suggest
that you write it down and keep it with you as a precaution.
3. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access of your account so be sure
to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

What About Third-Party Advertisers and Links to Other Websites?
Our TechieFitness app may send you occasional advertisements from third parties and links to
