What is motherboard in a computer?
A motherboard (also called mainboard, main circuit board, system board,
baseboard, planar board, logic board, is the main printed circuit board
(PCB) in general purpose computers and other expandable systems, The
first motherboards held very few actual components. The first IBM PC
motherboard had only a processor and card slots. Users plugged
components like floppy drive controllers and memory into the slots

What is a power supply?
Abbreviated as PS or P/S, a power
supply or PSU (power supply unit) is
a hardware component of a computer that
supplies all other components with power. The
power supply converts a 110-115 or 220-230
volt AC (alternating current) into a steady lowvoltage DC (direct current) usable by the
computer and rated by the number of watts it
generates. The image shows an Antec True 330, a
330 Watt power supply.
What are the three types of power supply?
There are three major kinds of power supplies: unregulated (also called brute
force), linear regulated, and switching. The fourth type of power supply circuit called
the ripple-regulated, is a hybrid between the “brute force” and “switching” designs,
and merits a subsection to itself.
Unregulated
Linear regulated
Switching
Unregulated
Unregulated/ is the simplest of power supplies to construct, a
diodes ability to switch current in one direction only makes it
deal for converting a two directional alternating current into a
constant direct current or DC supply.
Liner regulated
Liner regulated/ regulates the output voltage by dropping
excess voltage in a series dissipative component, They use a
moderately complex regulator circuit to achieve very low load
and line regulation.
Switching
Switching/ is an electronic power supply that incorporates a
switching regulator to convert electrical power efficiently, Like
other power supplies, an SMPS transfers power from a DC or AC
source to DC loads, such as a personal computer, while
converting voltage and current characteristics
Is power supply a battery?
A power supply is designed to supply a constant voltage to a
load. As the load requirements change, it continues to supply a
fixed DC level. A true battery charger generally supplies a
regulated current, first to charge the battery, and then
switches to a regulated voltage mode.

Conclusion
In conclusion, The motherboard is important to the
computer for many reasons, The motherboard is crucial in
every way for a computer to function properly, and also
the power supply has the job of providing multiple
outputs with regulated and protected power that will
prevent over current and over voltage to any individual
component of the vehicle.
