Document screening and oral/interview test • Applicants of psychology department will be notified whether they have an oral/interview test or not. (Other applicants must attend oral/interview test.) • For international students residing outside Korea, other means of communication(such as by telephone, skype etc) can be used for the interview. (Check telephone interview on the on-line application form.) ※ Depending on the situation of COVID-19, interviews could be conducted on-line. (5) After completion of internet application, cancellation or changing of details are not permitted. Documents submitted will not be returned as a rule. However, if applicant can’t take the test because of unavoidable accidents, applicant can request refund by submitting refund application and proof of events within 3 days from test day. Then, after evaluation, if the reason is reasonably acceptable, applicant can get partial (except the commission) or full refund. (6) Sogang University is not responsible for any disadvantages caused due to errors on the application form or required documents being improperly prepared. (7) Applicants can be requested to submit further documentation for the necessity of confirming the accuracy of relevant qualifications of applicants. When any reason for disqualification is discovered during the document screening, the application will be rejected and application fee will not be refunded. (8) Successful candidate must pay tuition by the due date and applicants who fail to pay tuition will be regarded as gave up admission. Admission related considerations (1) For further details about admission procedure, please inquire to the each department office. (2) Location of oral/interview test will be posted on the graduate homepage ‘notice board’ before tests. (3) During the admissions period we will not notify details to applicants individually, instead notice will be posted on the graduate school homepage. (4) For the oral/interview test, all applicants must bring their ID card (Alien registration card or passport) and test verification slip. (5) Applicants who are late for oral/interview test can be restricted to attend the test. (6) A graduate-to-be must get degree by the end of Aug. 2020 (Sep. 2020 for Universities in Japan). Admission Test Result Announcement & Registration (1) A List of successful candidates will be posted on the graduate school homepage on the result announcement day. Notification shall not be made individually to those who passed. (2) Successful applicants must pay close attention to the announcements. Print out the invoice for registration and make payment to the designated bank account. If registration is not made within the set period, it will be assumed that the applicant no longer intends to enter the school and the admission will be cancelled. (3) Those who are expected to graduate during the application should submit certificate of graduation and final transcript after graduation. If the documents are not submitted, admission can be cancelled. 2. Scholarships In-School Scholarship • TA Scholarship - Certain amount of scholarship awarded to students assisting professors of affiliated department in relation to lecture, research and practice • RA Scholarship - Awarded to students working as a researcher in the lab. with the professor and receiving more than 50% of tuition as a wage. Scholarship will be given within the range of 50% of tuition. • General scholarship - Awarded to outstanding freshmen, students in dean's list, students with family difficulties and students with special recommendations from the dean or head professor. Certain amount of scholarship will be given within the range of budget alloted. • Excellent Thesis Scholarship - Awarded to students who publish thesis on SCI(E), SSCI, A&HCI, SCOPUS as single, the first, or corresponding author. • Mentoring Scholarship - Awarded to doctoral degree and Integrated Master's and Doctoral degree students who mentor master’s degree students about study and campus life. • Research Encouragement TA Scholarship - Awarded to doctoral degree and Integrated Master's and Doctoral degree students who get RA scholarship to encourage their research for their first semester. • Albatross Fellowship - Awarded to students who graduate Sogang University (undergraduate) within 10% CGPA of each department. Admission fee and the tuition of the first semester will be exempted. • Master’s Doctoral Degree Scholarship - Awarded to students enrolled in Doctoral degree program right after completion of Master’s degree program at Sogang University Graduate School. If GPA goes below 3.5/4.3 during the regular semester, scholarship will not be awarded from the next semester.
