Dear Journal, These past few weeks have been pretty interesting to say the least. It is really beginning to sink in that I am in my role and that the COVID-29 virus has stopped a lot of our plans. Some key events that took place the past two week were the zoom case that we took on and we hired some interns. I am fortunate to not have to face many challenges this early into my internship however one challenge I have had to endure has been preparing the volunteer student interns for the upcoming transition of stay at home to school. So I thought the best remedy to that situation was the creation of a handbook outing everything a student intern would need to know in order to successfully execute their tasks. Secondly after working with all of their schedules, I held a intern meeting via zoom to inform them on the importance of their role, how appreciative the entire staff was of their service, and lastly I went over the entire handbook. This was challenging at first because I was unaware of how to go about it, I was not given the task without much guidance or direction, however I was able to persevere. It was very important that I take care of the interns and ensure they are prepared is because in a few weeks we will officially be considered “In Season” meaning that we will be able to hold full cases, along with a plethora of other things. Which is absolutely amazing because all of our hard work with the launch of the program would not go to waste. `
